Things to know and watch out for on Norwich's digital creativity scene

Hey there, and welcome to autumn. It already feels like we’re in deep, at this point. Things feel like they are sliding quickly towards spooky season and snowmonth.

Hope you enjoy the news this month. Please drop me an email and let me know what you think!

And if you’re working on something interesting, launching a new product, or in need of some help, let me know at [email protected]. I want to make sure we showcase the most fun and creative projects possible, so please share this far and wide, and get in touch, even if you don’t think it’s newsworthy. I’ll try to add in as much as I can!

Chris Spalton’s new album launches with incredible animated artwork

Chris has always been a fan of side hustles, of being creative for being creative’s sake, and just trying things that you want to try. So many of us are hugely inspired by his latest works in photography, videography and music. So when his new album dropped last month, I had to have a look.

Not only has his work been critically reviewed and enjoyed by not just his fans, but by those going along to his gigs too, but his artwork has been brought to life by the team at Wondermake to create an incredible, interactive, beautiful website that is a wonder to behold. It’s been given an honourable mention by Awwwards and rightly so.

Not only that, but Chris has created videos for some of his music too, using gorgeous edits of his very own camera work including aerial drone footage across the Norfolk countryside.

Seriously, go check out the website, and buy a copy of the album while you’re at it. I can’t wait for mine to arrive.

AI brings holocaust survivor stories to life

The Norwich based team at Infinite Form recently worked on a VR-based, AI-powered project that aims to bring holocaust survivors’ stories to life for students between 14 and 18.

They travelled across Europe to a range of locations to film and gathered stories from a survivor, and transformed it into a fully immersive experience to help young people to interact in a completely new way.

If you’re wondering how to use new technology like VR and AI in a way that actually forwards and benefits us as a society, we can definitely look at these kinds of projects.

Check out the video and you can read more about the project here.
